About Us

West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission
West Virginia’s four-year public higher education system includes 12 campuses that offer vast opportunities for a high-quality education at an affordable cost. Together with these institutions and the state’s Community and Technical College System, the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission is working toward this goal – to equip 60 percent of the Mountain State’s workforce with a formal credential beyond high school by 2030 – nearly doubling the percentage of working-age West Virginians with a postsecondary education over the next decade.

West Virginia Community and Technical College System
The West Virginia Community and Technical College System (CTCS) coordinates community and technical colleges statewide – partnering with businesses to meet workforce needs and ensuring a meaningful education for our students.
Community and technical colleges are an opportunity for West Virginians to get a college education for a reasonable price with on-the-job training in a variety of in-demand fields.
Students can attend community colleges as an affordable way to work toward a bachelor’s degree or to graduate and head right into a good-paying job. When employers partner with us to meet their workforce needs, students can be assured that those jobs will be there when they graduate.
About the West Virginia Community & Technical College System (CTCS)
We believe in real-life education.
A community and technical college education in the Mountain State is the kind of education that matters for today’s state economy. Students of our colleges graduate with the knowledge and hands-on experience that translate to real-life careers, allowing them to stay, work and raise their families right here at home.
