FAFSA & State Aid Information

FAFSA Completion Rate – The FAFSA Completion rate listed on CFWV Connect is a combination of 2nd month enrollment number from the WV Department of Education and the aggregate number of FAFSA applications calculated by the U.S. Department of Education at https://studentaid.gov/data-center/student/application-volume/fafsa-completion-high-school.

FAFSA Datashare Quick Guide – The FAFSA Datashare is a tool to help high school counselors identify which students at the school have completed a FAFSA. It matches off the student’s name, date of birth and zip code WVHEPC received in the 6th semester grades from WVEIS. The Datashare does not directly impact a school’s FAFSA Completion Rate, even if a student does not match. Use this feature in FAMS to help determine if students have a completed FAFSA or to help resolve an incomplete FAFSA issue. It is also helpful in determining FAFSA completion from the Promise Scholarship or WV Invests Grant rosters.
